Charlie Kirk

I see it swirling all over the big media right now, Charlie Kirk, killed in cold blood surrounded by a crowd on a college campus.

Many are mourning his death, but sadly I cannot say all. Let the record reflect: I am not the “all”, I am part of the “many”.

A father, a son, a husband, taken at only 31 years old.

His children, just babies who no longer have a dad to grow up with, and a now widow who once those babies are old enough to understand, can you imagine that struggle that mother would have to go through?

A lot of people are reacting in different ways, some are angry, some are sad.

Now, I’ve seen this quote recently, and I am not sure if Charlie did or did not make the quote, but it’s something like this: “The only thing death is good for, is delivering you to your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

I am not sure what will be of our country after the tragic loss of a fellow American, whether it be the next few days, weeks or even months.

I agreed with Charlie on most of what he had discussed. One thing, in my opinion, that encourages me, is that he didn’t just casually say “Yea, I believe in Jesus”. No, he boldly professed his faith in Jesus Christ before man.

Jesus says in Matthew 5:10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”

I see Charlie Kirk as a modern day 21st century matyr. It is sad, yes, but he heard the words every believer wants to hear: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

A few verses later, Matthew 5:14-15 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp, and put it under the peckmeasure, but on the lampstand; and it gives light to all who are in the house.”

Ladies and gentlemen, Charlie was one bright light, that light got knocked over and almost certainly is going to cause a fire.

If Charlie had the courage and boldness to do what he did, why can’t we? What is stopping us from becoming that bright light?

Just because one voice was silenced, does not by any stretch of the imagination mean that we have to zip our mouths. Now is the time for salvation, now is the time to boldly stand up and proclaim the name of Jesus Christ to all who need to hear from Him.
